It's the 1930s, England, a pleasant Summer's afternoon. The thwack of leather on willow can be heard from the playing fields close by, where boys compete for their house colours. All seems well at the Hornchurch Private School for Young Gentlemen; but beneath this quaint exterior a dark story is about to break!

When headmaster Bartholomew Rex is found dead, slumped over his study desk, there only remains one question, who killed him? The Players' first audiences were invited to solve this convulted mystery, deciphering the clues that flowed out from our characters during their sessions of questioning from good detective Spence of the yard.
